Advantages of commercial duck farming

There are many advantages of commercial duck farming to chicken. Bangladesh’s rivers-channels, canals-bills, hoards, ponds, ponds also weather and climate is suitable for duck rearing. Duck farming plays a very important role in meeting the demand for animal meat and achieving high profit at a low cost.

Ducks eat natural food, therefore a farmer can raise ducks profitably throughout the year by providing a small amount of feed. The cost of production is much lower than that of chickens.

Advantages of commercial duck farming

  4. Ducks are less susceptible to diseases than chickens and do not get infected easily.
  5. Duck housing costs much less than chicken housing costs.
  6. Duck eggs are generally larger and more nutritious than chicken eggs.
  7. Duck farms are easier to manage and take care of than chicken farms in rural environments.
  8. Duck fish farming can be economically more profitable because fish production can be increased four to five times without any supplementary food for fish. Because duck droppings are an excellent organic fertilizer.
  9. Duck droppings are an essential ingredient that can be an excellent fertilizer for our vegetable gardens.

Dear duck farmer brother, We all know that family-reared native ducks can make a living by grazing in ponds and farms. But in the case of rearing advanced breeds of ducks, more special care should be taken on food management.

If enough natural food such as snails, oysters, crabs, earthworms, snails, small fish, and various types of insects are available in the reservoir in a free state, only a small amount of granular food or feed should be provided in the morning and afternoon.

Plenty of fresh water should be provided with duck food. It is not right to feed ducks dry. They should always be fed wet and powdered food.
