Construction of beef cattle farming sheds

A modern cow fattening farm needs to have at least three different types of sheets or houses separately.

  1. Sheds for monitoring sick or newly purchased cows,
  2. Cattle feed and equipment storage, office and workers’ housing sheds,
  3. The main habitat for fattening cows.

Sometimes more sheds or houses are needed. For example, vermicompost manure from cow dung is required for the construction of sheds

Beef cattle farming sheds

Care must be taken to build its habitat and house for beef cattle farming. The following two types of sheds are most popular for beef cattle farming all over the world. E.g.

  1. Open shed
  2. Conventional shed

Open shed

In such a shed, the cows are left alone inside the shed and many cows of the same age can move freely together. Shed rice or canopy is wide and high and is surrounded by a special type of solid wood or iron pipe. The shed is attached to a piece of pasture where the cows can walk and rest. Pots are used for feeding

Conventional sheds

This type of cattle farming is done on farm sheds with cows tied up in 1 or 2 or round rows. Separate accommodation for each fattening cow is provided by wood or iron rods in the shed. In front of the cow, a long manager or feed container is placed. There is a separate water container or auto water drinker next to the feed container. Dishes and floors are made of bricks, sand, and cement.

A modern beef cattle farming system must have a modern drainage system to ensure a healthy and comfortable environment for the cows. Modern drainage systems not only ensure the health and productivity of cattle but also make the farm more profitable by producing organic manure and natural gas.

Conventional sheds can be divided into four parts based on the hierarchy of the cattle feed container. E.g.

  1. One-sided row shed
  2. Shed with inward rows
  3. Shed with convex rows
  4. Shed with round rows

You can choose any of these four to ensure the land structure and other modern management of beef cattle farming.

Shed with a one-way row

There is no substitute for one-sided sheets if you want to raise cattle on a family basis or build a small-scale beef cattle farm.

Sheds with inward rows

The fattening cows in this shed are facing upwards and facing outwards. Managers or feed containers have to be placed at the front of both rows for feeding and there must be a walkway for care and feeding along the middle of both rows of managers so that the caregiver can serve food in both rows at the same time. There is a drain along the back of the cows i.e. outside the shed.

The exterior row sheds

In such sheds, the cows are facing opposite each other and there is a drainage system in the middle of both the rows. In front of two rows of cows, there is a manager or food container and a walkway. The advantage of this method is that the cow gets free air.

Shed with round rows

Sheds with round rows are very popular at present. In such rows, many beef cattle farms can be fed and monitored from one place.

The environment of beef cattle farming

If the environment of the beef cattle farm is not well, it is normal for production to be disrupted. Because the environment is not well, the medical expenses will increase as the cows will get sick. The farm will suffer losses. And so when setting up a farm, one has to observe the surrounding environment well. In that case, the following precautions should be followed.

  1. The farm should have adequate lighting and a ventilation system.
  2. Farm setting areas should not be a disaster.
  3. The air there should be free from dust, sand, and pollution.
  4. The environment there must be noise free or solitary.
  5. Farms should be elevated and sloping.
  6. The environment around the farm should be kept dry and safe.
  7. Adequate food grain production and price should be less in the farm setting area.
  8. The communication system there should be good.

Therefore, it is important to follow the above guidelines to set up a commercial beef cattle farming farm.

Only in the rainy season, there is a little problem. Production will increase if cattle fattening farms can provide a comfortable environment to the animals, big or small.

All places and surroundings should be kept clean. Habitat is better if the habitat is slightly sloping so that water and rainwater can flow away. 20 square feet (5 * 4) space is required for each cow.

Beef cattle diet list

Maize, soybean meal, rice husk, wheat bran, wheat, pea, etc. are the main granular cattle feed ingredients in the world. These are mixed with a variety of supplements, vitamins, and minerals to make a balanced granular cattle feed. However, in making cattle feed, more attention should be paid to the quality of feeds.

The amount of protein, fat, carbohydrates, etc. in the diet is supplied through the diet according to the demand.

Beef cattle feed formulation

Formulation of 100 kg beef cattle feed is given-

  1. 35 kg of broken corn
  2. 15 kg of broken wheat
  3. Soybean bag 20 kg
  4. Rice bran / Reich bran 25 kg
  5. Limestone 1 kg
  6. DCP / MCP 500 gms
  7. Salt 2 kg
  8. Vitamin-Mineral Premix 150 gms
  9. 500 g of sodium bicarbonate
  10. Enzyme 50 g

Feeding method

Balanced cow fattening like quantity for cattle is most important in beef cattle farming projects. Carbohydrates, Protein, Fat, and Vitamin-Minerals should be in the diet more than usual. Needs to be supplied with fresh water.

40-50% of the total feed requirement should be given to granular and 50-60% of fiber food such as straw, grass, etc. Silage or UMS or fermented corn should be fed. The same type of feed should be consumed at the same time every day. Which cannot be changed during feeding. The feed should be fresh and dust free. The feed should be easy to digest.

Urea molasses straw/ UMS

Urea molasses straw/ UMS spelling is a very simple method. beef cattle farming feed is popular all over the world. It requires three ingredients: straw, molasses, and urea. Normal hay has very low nutritional value so cows are fattened faster by feeding by making UMS increase the hay bale quality and feed cost is much less later. It is made by mixing 100 kg dry straw, 50 kg pure water, 25 kg molasses, and 3 kg urea fertilizer.

Cattle breed and age suitable for beef fattening

beef cattle farming is an important factor in the age and breed of cows. Good results are possible only if we fatten a good breed of beef at its maximum growth. And so we need to have the right idea about the fast-growing breeds of cattle and the growth period.

Cow fattening medicine and treatment methods

Beef cattle farming and fattening medicine or treatment refer to all the medicines and treatments on how to keep the cow disease free and healthy and maintain a good appetite or digestion. If the cow is perfectly healthy and is given a balanced diet then maximum production must be ensured. Medicines that harm animal health cannot be used.

Use of parasitic drugs

Cows selected for fattening should be thoroughly examined to see if they are infected with any disease and treated properly. The animal should then be dewormed through deworming. Because almost 100% of the animals in our country are infected with worms, it is necessary to apply for anthelmintic medicine after purchasing the animals. After that, the animal should be given deworming medicine for 3/4 consecutive months.

Vaccination of beef cattle farms

If no vaccine has been given to the cow, different types of vaccine should be given 15 days in a row from 7 days after purchase. Vaccination against epilepsy, rabies, measles, mumps, etc. is to be applied to the animal. At least two vaccines must be given. Cows do not need much money to vaccinate and there is not much trouble.

Drugs that increase the digestive power

In order to fatten cows, they must improve their digestion. Family farms have also been shown to provide high amounts of starchy foods such as rice to small cows, which can reduce the efficiency of the cow’s stomach or reduce digestion.
